The “2022 APEC Conference on Achieving One Planet from 4E: Eat, Exercise, Ecology, Economics” is an event organized by the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Chinese Taipei. This Conference will be held in Chinese Taipei on 17th March, 2022 (GMT+8) via a Hybrid Conference (events with a mix of both physical and remote access participation) and fully conducted in English.
Pieces of evidence have shown that both healthy diet and physical activity have profound influences on health and quality of life. In addition, under the framework of a sustainable environment, promotion of healthy diet and physical activity should go beyond the conventional focus of individual behavior, social determinants and toward a wider range of ecological and economic aspects. Therefore, Chinese Taipei proposes a new healthy lifestyle movement that combines eco-friendly and economic harmonization focusing on 4E (Eat, Exercise, Ecology and Economics) to effectively promote green eating and livable exercises as well as the co-benefits and economic benefits them generated.
The Conference aims to deepen the discussion on innovations and multi-sectoral synergy for green eating and livable exercise, the roles of non-health sectors in promoting health, the roles of health sector in promoting environmental health, and how to utilize whole system approaches and collaborative works across all relevant sectors to achieve the common goal in a broad context of economic benefits and ecological sustainability. Through the conference, we would like to provide a platform for APEC economies to discuss how to create a healthy environment for everyone and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle for all under the premise of economic benefits and the limits of having only one Earth. Instead of generating the individual benefits, the co-benefits could also promote the development of industries in Asia and the Pacific region.
